The Outer Continental Shelf Sale 184 was held in New Orleans on August 21, 2002. 

Sale 184, just completed, resulted in 391 bids, by 44 companies, on 323 tracts, for a total of $181,551,965. The total sum of apparent winning bids was $151,265,255, on approximately 1.8 million acres.

In this same area last year, Sale 180 resulted in 386 bids, by 50 companies, on 320 tracts, for a total of $190 million. The total sum of apparent winning bids was $165.6 million, on approximately 1.8 million acres.
